Curriculum Features

Our teachers are well-equipped, and our teaching performance is outstanding. We have passed the quality assurance assessment of 2022, and we are the Beauty Science department of 5-years university in Kao-Ping area that has been awarded the first grade for the most times. Our department works with many famous domestic chain companies for internship and industry-academic cooperation, employment upon graduation is also offered. The department is separate into two groups: " Health and Styling Design Group" and "Pet Beauty Design Group". Students can take courses of their choice across the groups to cultivate multi-disciplinary professionals.

Health and Styling Design Group: The main academic features special teachings developed around the dual-axis of "beauty care" and "makeup styling". The educational objectives are: (1) To cultivate professionals and management personnel in the field of beauty care and overall styling that meet the needs of modern trends. (2) To cultivate the ability of continue study and advance in the field of beauty care and overall styling.

Pet Beauty Design Group: The distinguish teaching features "pet care" and "pet beauty" as dual-axis focus of education. The objectives of the group are: (1) To cultivate professional and management personnel who fits the needs of modern trends in pet care and beauty industry. (2) To cultivate the ability to continue study and advance in the professional fields of pet care and pet beauty.

The current curriculum is arranged with "parallel of theoretical and practical" in mind, with emphasis on articulation, integration, and innovation, to implement the combination of theory and application, strengthening students' understanding of the current situation of the beauty industry, highlighting the application characteristics of technical vocational education. Our team of academic minor practice provide close learning experience based on the need of students with thematic selection of practical topics, and extending off-campus internship to strengthen students' clinical "experience", implementing the philosophy of "Learning-by-doing". Reducing the gap between learning and application, and actively approaching the goal of "unity of learning and application", in line with the workforce requirement of the related industries at the current stage, and conducting curriculum adjustment planning. Our curriculum and education planning features are as follows:

1. The program is career-oriented and offers a variety of courses to meet the needs of students' diverse choices, and two groups of students can take courses across groups according to their interests.
2. The program is designed for cross-disciplinary study and practical lesson to broaden the horizon.
3. The program places emphasis on professional ethics education to build a good working attitude, improve service quality and enhance industrial competitiveness.
4. To implement the ideas of prioritizing license and employment.

Curriculum Credit Program:

4-Year University, Day School "Pet Beauty Design Group"

1. The minimum number of credits for graduation: 128 credits, 101 credits required (26 credits required by the university and 75 credits required by majoring), 27 credits elective (10 credits of which are cross-departmental electives).

2. At least two pet beauty related certifications must be obtained before graduation.

5-Year University, Day School "Health and Styling Design Group"

1. The minimum number of credits for graduation is 220, including 68 credits of general subjects, 95 credits of compulsory subjects, 24 credits of professional practice, and 33 credits of electives (10 credits of which can be taken from other departments).

2. Students must obtain at least two Class C certifications in cosmetology and hairdressing before graduation.

5-Years University, Day School "Pet Beauty Design Group"

1. The minimum number of credits for graduation is 220, including 68 credits of general subjects, 98 credits of compulsory subjects, 24 credits of professional practice, and 30 credits of electives (10 credits of which may be taken from other subjects).

2. Students must obtain at least two pet beauty related certifications before graduation. Or participate in a national pet beauty skills competition and obtain top three places.

In order to provide students with a seamless connection to the beauty/pet related industry, the department offers off-campus internship programs, including 4-Years day university's semester internship and 5-years university's whole academic year internship. The internships cover the domestic beauty industry, including tourist hotel beauty spa, hairdressing chain institutions, and beauty chain institutions. The Pet Beauty Group cooperates with three well-known pet chains in China, such as Oscar Pet Store, Loving Kindness Animal Hospital, and National Veterinary Hospital to implement "learning-by-doing" and "integration of learning and application", with many employment opportunities.

In terms of certification programs, we have included certification programs in many practical courses, and our teachers (with certification evaluation qualifications) will assist in guiding students to acquiring certification in hairdressing and pet beauty related fields, our certification rate is almost 100%. We also provide rewards for acquiring certifications to motivate our students to study proactively. In addition, we hope that students can fully demonstrate their technical knowledge and make use of external competition opportunities to enhance their skills and increase their visions to stimulate their diverse creativity, and through participation in competitions to broaden students' horizons, refine their professional skills, and accumulate practical experience values to enhance their competitiveness and sense of honor, which will be beneficial to future employment and further education.
